Terms of Use — AI Session Buddy

    Plain English first: Use the extension freely. Don't misuse it. We built it in good faith and offer it for free. These terms exist to protect both of us.
  

1. Acceptance

By installing or using AI Session Buddy ("the Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please uninstall the extension.

2. What the Extension is

AI Session Buddy is a Chrome browser extension that helps you save and restore browser sessions, track time spent across website categories, take periodic snapshots of your open tabs, save research items, and visualize your browsing patterns. All features operate locally on your device.

3. Free to use

AI Session Buddy is provided free of charge. No subscription, no payment, no premium tier. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but all existing free features will remain free.

4. Your data

All data created by the extension — sessions, activity logs, snapshots, research items — is stored only on your device. You own it entirely. You can export it or delete it at any time via Settings. We have no access to it.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the extension for any lawful personal or professional purpose. You may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute the extension without permission
Use the extension to facilitate illegal activity
Attempt to exploit the extension to access other users' data (there is no multi-user component, so this would not be possible, but we state it for clarity)
Misrepresent the extension or impersonate its creators

6. No warranty

AI Session Buddy is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the extension will be error-free, always available, or suitable for any particular purpose. Browser updates may occasionally break functionality — we will fix these as quickly as we can.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creators of AI Session Buddy are not liable for any loss of data, lost productivity, or other damages arising from your use of the extension. Because all data is stored locally on your device, we strongly recommend enabling Chrome's built-in sync for settings, and periodically exporting your sessions via the Export feature.

8. Third-party services

The extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store, which is operated by Google. By installing the extension, you also accept Google's terms regarding Chrome extensions. AI Session Buddy uses no other third-party services.

9. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
